Only in dance sense of happiness comes to us.
Though more often, it's melancholy for it.
Passion leaks as blood from an open wound.
Souls and bodies have merged in a drama of dance.
And nobody knows in this strange world:
Whether dance's finished, or the life has passed?

We are members of the tango-club "Edissa". All of us are very different, but one thing unites us: we are passionately in love with the Argentina tango. It is a style of our life, style of our success. The Argentina tango is pleasant to successful, self-assured people. They can freely enjoy that internal drama which this dance is sated with. The Argentina tango is not only and not so much dance. But it is a small performance, which is created by the two: with the intrigue, the dramatic art, inherent only to tango language. Certainly, technique is the important part of tango, as well as in any dance. It expands opportunities of your self-expression, enriches your "language".

But despite of all other dances, especially ball dances, the key element of tango is improvisation, game. Tango is not the scheme, it is a small life. Therefore, entering marvelous new world of the Argentina tango, be ready to completely open new parts of your soul, until now absolutely unknown to you. It is inevitable, though it is fine. As the psychology has proved long time ago, the more sides of person are developed, the more successfully he/she acts in all areas of life. The success generates the success. And the Argentina tango generates incomparable emotional splash. There’s small passion in each dance. Rise without fall. "Vertical expression of horizontal desire", when dance sublimates all your non-realized dreams and imaginations. We think, it is worth to try, even if all told above is only half-truth.

Our club has been existing for already six years. Members’ age varies from 19 up to 52, but mainly from 25 to 40. We are people, who found ourselves in business or in science long time ago, but who would like to create, have spiritual development and interesting communication. We’ve found all this in our club. Many of us during these years have become friends and now not only dance together, but also visit to each other, jointly go to sauna and concerts, celebrate holidays. Joint tango traveling became a good tradition when a big group goes to tango festival to improve dance technique, to communicate with foreign tangeros, simply to dance and have a rest. Last (already the fourth) time, in the summer of 2003, nine persons from the Moscow clubs and eight of us visited Sidjes (Spain). It was very cool and cheerful.

However, it isn’t necessary to go far to improve your level. During last years the best dancers of world tango-elite have held master-classes in St. Petersburg on the invitation of our club. There were dancers even from the top five of the best dancers of the world, such as Claudia Codega and Esteban Moreno. We are going to invite further only the best, as the head of our club, being the professional, knows well who is who in the world tango elite and is personally acquainted with all leading dancers.

In general, owing to our club and our head Elvira Malishevskaya, St. Petersburg already for a long time is not that tango-suburb which it recently was. Our school is known in Europe, and to a smaller degree in Argentina and the USA. Many Elvira’s graduates have opened their own schools, and that brings only benefit for city tango-community. Lessons at our school are constantly visited by foreign tangeros, and they are amazed with the high level of teaching and professionalism which classes are carried out with. We are sure, that our city – the cultural capital of Russia, city in which they have started to dance the Argentina tango in 1914 for the first time in Russia, - becomes one of the recognized world centers of the Argentina tango very soon.
